Lan keeps getting disconnected

I have a SMC EZ Connect g USB port card to connect wirelessly to the internet through a Motorolla Surfway Gateway router. I keep getting a Lan Disconnected icon on the lower left screen. When this happens, my SMC Utility window shows that my base station name ID keeps changing like it's searching through a list of them and my channel is no longer 11 but -1. My signal strength and link quality is at 100% (I wish) but it is flickering like something isn't right. My USB port is good and the SMC EZ is still shown as being plugged in. THis whole process turns the "Radio on" to "radio off" and if I try to turn it back on while all this is happening it crashes my system some kind of memory dump. NOw .... if I just reboot my computer it usually works fine (not always though) Very anoying!!!! please help.

It sounds like you may have other wireless nodes in your area and your system is getting confused and trying to connect to them. I'm not familiar with the equipment you're using. If you're using XP, make sure you're using either the Windows wireless client or the SMC one, but not both. This could also be interference with wireless devices or microwave ovens locally.
