Problem getting on the internet(please help!!)
I have two computers, one downstairs and one upstairs. The one downstairs is connected with wires to my router, and my computer upstairs is wirelessly connected. The internet is working downstairs, without problems, but the computer upstairs isnt. There seems to be no problem with my connection to the router, as I can still connect with my router by typing in the IP (192.168.0.1) and I can further alter settings and of the router, yet I cannot open any websites. When I repair my connection, or disable/enable it, it says that it is connected, and it shows that it is connected, so I don't see why it isnt working? When I used the MSN Messenger troubleshoot, it had problems with the DNS server and Key ports (dont know if that will help or not). The computer arent networked, as the one downstairs runs 2000, and the one upstairs is XP, they are simply sharing the internet connection. I'm not sure what the problem is, and I have done everything I could think of, even re-installing the drivers to my NIC and resetting my router. The internet has worked in the past upstairs, yet it just went down all of the sudden. Can someone possibly help me??
I have a HJT log file, if that is needed, just ask me for it. |

I doubt it's the ISP, since you're behind a router. Have you checked the wireless settings and status? What does the wireless client say about the connection?
