3com 3CP4130 adsl modem help
Hi
I currently have a 3com 3CP4130 adsl duallink modem and wondered if I could use it for port forwarding. I tried the instructions on a portforwarding site to set it up with applications, but when I type in my static ip in a web browser nothing happens. If I can't use it for I would like to get a router as the speeds I am getting are pretty low for my connection speed. So if anyone could recommend any good reasonably priced routers as I don't have a clue what to go for. When I initially installed the modem it came with PPP over Ethernet Protocol software, so for some reason the broadband connects through the dial-up instead of being on all the time. Is there an alternative way to set it up as I would prefer it being on all the time rather than having to reconnect everytime I reboot my computer. Thanks |

Here is a link to the 3com site with all the info you should need. http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/d...rt&sku=3CP4130
If you get a router you will need to set the modem to bridged mode.
