I have a cable modem and I am using a linksys router with cat5 cables and evevery 2 mins aprrox. i get the baoon at the bottom of the screen that pops up for 2secs saying network cable is unplugged. only on my computer, the other one is working well. I've tried to change my port on my modem but the problem seems to be coming from my computer not the connection. I am using windowsXP pro. and have AVG and Spyware Doctor running.

Rule out that it's not a problem with the cable first.
Try mixing and matching. So try the possible faulty cable to the computer that's working fine. OR bring the good cable to the computer that's giving you problems. If it's not the cable, it could be the network card. |
