Can I get some help?

Hi, this is my first post here, and I honestly hope it's my last (seeing as I'd only come here for help)

Ok, here's my problem, my internet on occasion, just stops working. I run off of a wireless connection, and this is the first time that something like this has happened. I've checked my modem and everything's fine, and I've checked my wireless adapter, and again, everything's fine. My actual connection is fine as well. My inernet provider says everythings fine, but I still can't access the net. I scanned my computer for any possible outside sources causing the problem, and my searches came up clear (using spy sweeper and McAffee). The weirdest part is that it just kinda goes away by its self. Can anyone help me here?

You can start by telling us the make/model of the router, the wireless adapter, the version/patch level of Windows in use, and the exact symptoms.

Does the connection come and go? How far between the router and the system in question?

Send a message via MSN to your mom
is the router/adapter near any other high-frequency devices? ie: cordless phones, halogen lamps, the computer monitor?

ok well, my router and adapter are Belkin Wireless, Im runnin off of windows xp, and my router is less than a foot away from my adapter.

and my moniter and halogen lamp haven't ever been a problem, and they aren't the cause now. I got rid of my halo lamp and my router got moved a bit further from my monitor but the prob still came back.

EDIT: The symptoms are that my internet just stops working every now and then, and after two to three hours it comes back on. My router and modem says everything is clear, and my internet provider says there's nothing wrong with my subscription. SO my PC says everythings fine but it wont let me connect.

What type of Internet connection do you have? Cable, DSL, other?
Who is your Internet provider?
What type of computer do you have, laptop or desktop?
What type of wireless card are you using?
Can you connect via wire to remove the wireless link to see what happens?

You say everything is fine, but it is not.

How do you know the modem is fine?
The ISP claims your subscription is fine? Have they verified connectivity?
What site(s) are you trying to access that you cannot get to?
Do you know how to Ping and Trace Route?
