Problem: RR not connect with AOL software loaded
I am trying to help out an elderly individual whose ISP is AOL by dial-up.
I have broadband RoadRunner and wanted to update their pc but everytime I try to connect with a ARRIS modem by ethernet connection, I end up with a "Limited or No connectivity" message. Any ideas on how to fix this? Been googling and haven't been able to nail down a solution other than it's an AOL thing, which doesn't help much. My pc is running XP Pro, pc I'm having trouble with is XP Home. Thanx for any ideas you could send my way.

Did you set "Never dial a connection" in the Internet Properties in Control Panel?

Problem: RR not connect with AOL software
Thanx for your response!
Went and checked and I had already set it to "Never dial a connection." It was set to the dial-up modem originally. Appreciate the tip, any other ideas, I feel like I'm missing something. I should be able to just plug in the cable modem cable and be set!?
