Infected with virus when logging into peoplepc

I have seen two friends of mine's computers that constantly reported virus infections whenever they log onto peoplepc. The viruses vary, everything from W32.ToxBot, w32.korgo and on and on. I have tried different versions of the peoplepc software, not using the software and using a dial up connection instead. When I connected to the peoplepc server, i got virus infection alerts. I'm using norton antivirus 2003.

I have wiped the hard drive and did a new install, i only installed the OS and norton antivirus, then i connected to the inet and i started getting infection alerts. I wiped the hard drive again and this time I dialed into SBC's server and didn't get any virus infection alerts.

I also know of other people using peoplepc and they don't have any problems with viruses. One person i know uses Trend Antivirus and i'm sure what others use. What's going on, does peoplepc's servers have viruse problems? Anybody have any ideas? help....
