Do you have multiple broadband services coming into your home? If not, how are you planning on using two routers?

Perhaps you need to describe all the network to us, including make/model of any networking equipment.

You don't need two routers to connect multiple machines. You have a 2Wire router, a Linksys router, and you're getting another router? You really have to cure your router addiction!

Explain the CPU with no monitor, I don't get that.

You should really stick to one router, you don't need more of them. You can connect a CAT5 cable from the laptop to the router to configure it, then remove it after everything is configured.

Just got out of "Router Detox"

Ok, SBC is got to have the stupidist people working there..,Everytime I call I get a different answer. SO.. They told me I needed another Router for the other room so I got it then after I get it they say no it'll lag the other router down. But this new router has the additional ports so that is better. The other Cpu that is hooked up used to have a monitor etc. but screwed up so I just left everything hooked up,(except the monitor) the cpu,xbox,2wire and wireless router. Now, with this new 2wire all I have is a laptop that is from Dell with a wireless card in it. Should I just hook the Ethernet to the laptop and 2wire like the SBC guy says to configure it and then I don't need anymore routers for the cables and just have a long Ethernet hanging in my hallway? Also, Is my laptop going to work like this or do I need to buy a new 2 wire wireless card? I think I just have a Dell card inserted in this Lap top. I'm afraid to try to configure everything and then my computer won't work and I will have two "tween age" boys driving me insane.
Thanks again, Mary

You need a wireless adapter (or the built-in if available) for each wireless machine, and one wireless router. You don't need any other routers. If the laptops already have wireless capability, you don't need to buy another adapter for them. At least one machine should be connected by wire to the router for use in configuration of the wireless capability, it can be any machine.
