is my USB port savable for Broadband?
Hi, I'm running win98SE with 432 celeron 128mb ram. I recently got broadband and a brand new motorola ethernet/usb modem. My computer only has usb but it keeps timing out knocking me off the internet. I have all the correct modem drivers installed.
The USB technology is very young on this older computer, but is there anything I can do besides buying an ethernet card? Thanks for any help, compubuy Last edited by compubuy; 08-13-2005 at 02:40 PM. |

yes... NIC cards are about $15-20 and 10 on sale usually and the speed Vs. USB is so much better... but i wonder, what aobut firewire... anyone know if a firewire connection to a modem is faster then a standard 10/100 NIC Card...
