Limited or no Connectivity...
Ok, so right before i go to bed i turn my computers off(been playing video games right before) and then hit the sack... well on wednesday i woke up went to school got home turned my computer on only to find that the it had "Limited or no connectivity"... i check my other computer same deal and then i check my dads and his has access, so the first thing i tried was resetting the "switch(the box that has all the modem wires going into it)" i unplug it wait 15seconds plug it back in, i check my dads comp and his has the message now "Limited or no connectivity" so i go to my other computer and it says the same thing, finaly i go to my main computer and it says im connected(woohoo), i play my games and go to bed next morning after school i come back and my computer has the msg "limited or no connectivity" however my other computer is not connected to the internet now and my dads is offline as well.
I've had dsl i wanna say 3+ years and had no problems using 3+ computers on the internet at the same time, and the fact that it randomly chooses 1 of the computers to work is uh weird? I have verizon dsl, and a brand new NETGEAR 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch 10/100/1000 mbps GS605(before it was a Linksy 8-port ethernet switch). My ether card is linksys standard ethernet card, and both my other comp and my fathers are standard ethernet cards. Things i've tried. 1)tried refreshing the connection but it is unable to renew the ip address 2)Switching modem cables to see if my computer would get access to the internet using a perviously connected computers cord(failed) 3)used my computer cord on a perviously connected computer cord(worked... but that computer was already online with a different cord and mine was not...) 4)i swapped either cards(didnt work) 5)i tried to match the settings... 6)i called Verizon online(its not their fault its the switchs(not much help)) 7)its not the switch its the ether card...(or not..) 8)its not the switch(bought a new one... my comp is online tho and my otherone and my dads is not...) 9)tried refreshing the connection but it is unable to renew the ip address 10)i duno what to do now, can you help? hope this helps Last edited by Bego; 06-03-2005 at 10:24 PM. |

That's exactly what appears to be happening, try a broadband router.
