Cant connect to net using ethernet adapters
Hey all, heres my problem--
ive been using a computer for a while-- then i moved-- it was packed away for about 3 months-- now i cant get it to connect to the internet-- its a celeron 950-- it has onboard LAN which the computer says is working perfectly fine-- but i still get dns errors-- when i go to the connection properties and check its status- its says connected at 100.00 mbs, it sends packets but the received is always zero-- so then i installed another ethernet card and tried using that but its still acting the same way as the onboard LAN-- No connectivity-- ??? Im using Road Runner-- and it works great on my laptop -- but not on my desktop PC-- If anyone has any ideas of what i can do to fix this.. PLEASE HELP me .. Thanks All |

First off, when you change the machine connected to the broadband router, you need to cycle power to the modem, did you do that.
Please post the make/model of the broadband modem, the version and patch level of Windows, and do this on the problem machine: Open a DOS window and type: IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
