Verizon FIOS charges
Hi,
I was wondering if Verizon charges fios buyers for digging the fiber optic line from the road to their house. Or if that isn't what they do, could somebody explain how the connection is made from one's house to the road's fiber, especially if this person's house is 1/4th of a mile off the road, and how they charge for it? |

Verizon can give you a more accurate answer on this.
But from my understanding the customer connection is covered by Verizon. If it is an underground drop, they will plow it, probably only a few inches underground (2-6"). If your current drop is aerial, they will make an aerial drop more than likely. They will install a new ONT to replace your NID outside and will want a power outlet for a back up battery. Your telephone will be changed over from the copper to fiber as well. This link is for some useful FIOS FAQ: http://www22.verizon.com/fiosforhome...s/root/faq.asp JamesO |
