Wired or Wireless ?
Hello,
I recently purchased a second PC for my home, I have a DSL internet connection. (3.0 mpbs) Im a newbie at PC networking, but I understand in order to connect my second PC to my exsisting DSL connection, I need to buy a Router. I have Zero experiance with Routers, what is a decent Router to buy ? and whats faster, Wired or Wireless ?? Obviesly wireless seems much more convenient, but is it slower than a wired setup ? I want the fastest connection speed possible help !

Re:
I have turned to D-Link for all of my wireless networking routers. But if you want the wired network then your best choice would have to be Netgear. Hard wired networks are better for things like file sharing but as far as speed on the internet goes you wouldn't find a huge difference in the wired or wireless. Some people say that wireless networks are not as secure but that is not true, there are things you can do for increased security on both wireless and wired. I would recommend you to go with wireless because it will prevent you frow haveing wires running all across your room. But thats just me! Let us know how it turns out!

If the wire isn't difficult to run, this is a no-brainer, go wired! Wired is by far easier to live with, and once you connect it, you probably will never revisit network configuration again. Wireless is more difficult to get working, keep working, and secure from intruders.
