You probably did not do anything wrong.

Might be machine resources?
Might be malware/Spyware?
Might be a network problem?

What speed is your processor?
How much RAM is in your machine?
How many processes do you have running?

Ctrl, Alt, Del, Task Manager, look at the performance tab. Need info from bottom line of screen.

Do the following with a web site that works and a web site that does not work:

Start, Run, type "cmd" then press enter.
In the black box type "ping www.xyzwebsite.com > c:\pingxyz.txt"

Go to my computer, click on the C drive, open c:\pingxyz.txt and then copy this info for the machine and post it back here.

Start, Run, type "cmd" then press enter.
In the black box type ping "tracert www.xyzwebsite.com > c:\tracexyz.txt"

Go to my computer, click on the C drive, open c:\tracexyz.txt and then copy this info for the machine and post it back here for review and comment.

Download, install and run Adaware SE (it's free):

Do you have a firewall and anti virus? Who's?
