A8V-E help with onboard wireless setup
Hi first post here,
Anyway I have done everything that needs to be that can see to get the wireless abilities of this motherboard up and running,;enabled the wireless functions of my router/modem, instlled the drivers for the motherboard (including the wireless adapter) and it says it connected but when I try to look at a page in my browser, at the bottom left where IE says its opeing a page , it goes through a series of different messages like :opening www.msn.ca (for example), then opeing ww.msn.ca.edu, then www.msn.ca.org, etc Can anyone walk me through the steps to trouble shoot this? I have the above mention MOBO, a AMD 64 3200+, 1 gb OCZ RAM, WInXp pro thanks PS it not on my ISP's end as we tried getting it to work with them for a while and they determined that it must be the wireless setup. The onboard can't recognize my browser of something(??) |

This was moved, but wouldnt it get more replies in the ASUS motherboard forum? At least there there is others with the same mobo, because this issue is limited to the motherboard's onboard wireless setup itself, not just a general network setup problem. I can handle those no sweat.
Come on people lets come together! lol |

Your wired ethernet has an address from the router, but the wireless is not. A 169 address is what windows shows when it can not get a real address.
Check your system control panel, hardware, device manager, and make sure the driver is installed correctly.

Disable the wired connection and see what happens?
Make sure the wireless is enabled? Set the wireless to static addressing?
