dsl stops working...
I'm in the uk, and me and my 3 housemates are 'bulldog dsl' customers. weve had the service for 10 months now, we first noticed this problem shortly after connecting to the service.
Everyday (sometimes once, sometimes persistently) the dsl feed seems to stop, meaning the browsers won't transfer anything and just time out, and p2p programs and messenger eventually log out. After the first few times we figured the service had gone down, but then realised that swithing the router off at the mains and back on resumed our service. First we suspected the router (netgear) so got a new belkin one, but the new one hasn't changed the problem. When the dsl stops, we can't even get into the the router's setting via mozilla/IE which makes us think that this isnt a problem with the service, but surely it cant be another dodgy router?! Any suggestions or help would be of great help as this is becoming extremely annoying! Thanks |

For a test, connect a single computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router. See if the same activity causes the service to hang. This will isolate it to the modem and ISP, or something with your network or router.
