Belkin F5D6231-4!
Hi guys, i have the belkin F5D6231-4 w/l router. I dont have the right connection on my DSL modem and my ISP is asking me if this router is 'Bridged for cable'?? i have no-idea what it means. Can someone provide a quick insight ;) ( or does anyone know if this router is bridged for cable??)

Thanks for ur reply waffleweed. No its not, my dsl modem doesnt have a ethernet/wan port, its usb. ISP said id need a DSL router or somesh*t. so it means buying a new modem with ethernet connection (which he said was rear and would be expensive??) or buy a adsl/rdsl router. So he adivsed me on the BT home hub 1800HG http://www.bt.com/homenetworking/ind...K&obsOID=99828 Would appreciate your opion! (apologys for length of link) Can u tell me, do u know if u can connect two PCs together through USB and data transfer? |

If you have a USB-only modem, you can't use that router, or any other router for that matter. You need to get an Ethernet capable modem to use a broadband router, or perhaps an all-in-one modem/router.

yes john, i just relized all this today lol my isp recommends a dsl modem/router so im going to have togo with that.
i didnt think to check my dsl modem, my own stupid fault i guess ;) It might come in handy someday (along with all the other crap ive gathered over time :) thanks for ur replies guys, appreciated ;) sasarchiver |
