XP ADSL Connection Problem

I have two computers connected to a D-Link DSL-504G configured in bridge mode. On one of the PC's I log on without an issue using the XP login dialogue. On the other PC it has exactly the same login settings and keeps returning an error 636 no dial tone or line busy. The strange thing is that it was working now it is not. Through the PC that is not working I can see the network and connect to the modem through internet explorer. Any Ideas?

have you set up a home network? if so have you set a host computer and made sure to allow computers to connect to it directly and connect to the Inet thru it?

here is a guide for general networking.

It sounds like something is mis-configured on the second machine. Try these two fixes in this order, boot and test after each one. Stop when it works.
