Speedstream 5100b ?
I have SBC dsl service which is supposed to be at 384 kbps to 1500kbps.
I use the CNET bandwidth meter twice a day to check the line speed. I have yet to get a reading above 169 kbps. I was looking at the software settings for the modem under "Advanced Statistics". I noticed an entry: Max Allowed Speed (kbps) To Modem = 384, To Internet = 384. I was wondering if this setting has the effect of limiting my speed to 384 kbps? Talking to SBC phone support is a waste of time - they don't even understand the question. Does anyone know what these setting mean? TIA |

TIA[buddy it won't do any good to u and might affect ur dsl connection also what u need to do is check ur speed on http://help.sbcglobal.net and it will give u a break up of ur speed as upload and down load speed. if the speed u get is still slow then ask them to create a trouble ticket and this 384-1500 is most of the time expected download speed which might increase and decrease] |
