Canmnot find internet when connected to wifi

I have been able to connect to someone's wireless internet for over a year now (since I moved into a new apartment) with a very strong signal. For the past month, I still get a very strong signal but sometimes (quite often actually) my Linksys console says that I am connected to the access point but cannot find the internet. If I force it to reconnect 2-3 times, I can usually get on. Sometimes I get kicked back off, sometimes I stay on for a long time and sometimes I cannot get on at all. What do you think the problem may be? Thanks.
