Bypassing Modem/Router

Hi, i'm currently having some troubles downloading games off steam. I've been advised to directly connect my pc to my modem, bypassing my router. I've since found out that my router has an internal modem. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. So could please tell me how to connect my laptop to the internet, bypassing the router? If this is at all possible of course
Thanks
M.S.

Re: Bypassing Modem/Router

With a modem/router it's obviously not possible.
