D-Link, HTTP Port:80 Blocked
I've got a D-Link 502T (ADSL) modem installed on a Desktop Computer. There is also a Netgear WGR614V6 wireless router connected allowing a connection to the laptop. The Laptop works fine however the Desktop is quiet.
According to continuous IE8 Network Diagnosis logs the HTTP Port (80) is blocked, most likely through a firewall. I've turned the Windows Firewall off and the Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 Firewall as-well The displayed features of this modem are: ADSL2/2+ Compatibility - only using ADSL SPI Content Filtering Intrusion Detection System Built-In Firewall Settings Page is currently unreachable on the Laptop, when its accessible I will tell you its settings, however here is some I do know VC(the smaller input) 8 VC(the larger input) 35 PPPOE/PPPOA: PPPOA LLC MTU: around 1500 (off memory) I'm sorry my memory is a bit sketchy on specs however I will edit it when I can More Specs: Both computers are running Windows XP SP3 Both computers have Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 installed Currently scanning for Viruses Last edited by Intergeek; 11-02-2009 at 12:59 AM. |

Re: D-Link, HTTP Port:80 Blocked
Many firewalls don't release their grip until totally uninstalled...

Re: D-Link, HTTP Port:80 Blocked
As in the D-Link or Trend Micro
It's going to be impossible to uninstall Trend completely as that's also part of my anti-virus system and it's been working perfectly with a speedstream modem before this one |

Re: D-Link, HTTP Port:80 Blocked
Let's see this from the the working and nonworking computers.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command: Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command. IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Desktop now has the same DNS as Laptop, also changed some settings on Internet Explorer tools to do with proxy server (even though one isn't present) and the Internet connection has come back!
Thanks so much! ![]()
