Hi im having a problem with my internet conection. My computer's mother board has 2 nvidia nforce 1 GB ethernet ports. Im using brand new just out of the box cat 6 7ft cable
I originaly was using a patch cable and I can only get 100MB per second wen my room mate get 1gb and he's on a 100ft cat 5 cable. We share a router. I have tried bypassing the router and conecting to the modem but still no change. My computer tells me that the drivers that it is using for my ethernet are Nvidia Nforce 10/100/1000. I will ad that I did update my drivers recently I went threw windows device manager atumatic driver update. Im not shure but i was told that's not usaly a good idea. I think my room mate's signal maybe false becuse he is using a 24port $300 bisness networking router which is then conected to my router I dont know please help me

Re: Internet speed is very slow
What's the exact make/model of the router? Note that as far as Internet speed, there will be no difference between having a 100mbit or a gigabit connection to the router. It's REALLY doubtful that your Internet connection is anywhere close to 100mbit!
