Router in some sort of bizarre loop.

i don't know what to call it but a bizarre loop. i've never seen this before.
i'm using a Belkin N1 Vision (F5D8232-4) and never had any problems with it other than the things i've screwed up and fixed myself. Anyway i come home check some emails, go get something to eat, come back to check some websites and i get a message that the server was reset. i log onto the router settings screen and it says i'm disconnected. Odd because i was just online 20 minutes ago and didn't touch anything. i check all the cables and go through the settings and double check them and all's ok. i reset the router and then i'm connected. Go to check out a webpage and again the server was reset...W T F? i go back into the router settings and i'm disconnected. So i go downstairs to look at the router and i notice in the router window the Belkin logo and the status bar on the bottom loading in...odd i thought since i reset it about 10 minutes ago. So i watch it. It gets to about 20%, the screen goes black then the Belkin logo reappears and the status bar loads in, it gets to 20% again then poof...black screen...belkin logo...status bar. i watched it do this 5 times. i unplugged the router, waited a minute, plugged it back in and watched it do the same thing again and again. i unplugged it again let it sit for 30 minutes, plugged it back in and reset over and over again. i've also checked all the outlets, they work fine and the internet connection is working as well, i pluged the modem directly into the computer i'm typing this on.

So, anyone have any ideas? Because this is bizarre.

oh....i've also reset the router using a paperclip in the reset hole in the back of the n1.

Re: Router in some sort of bizarre loop.

Well i think i might have the answer. Something might be getting too hot, possibly the ac adapter. After posting the above i decided to play some Burnout on xbox live.............several hours later i unplug the 360 from the modem and before plugging in the PC i try the router, it's working fine now. So i'm going to check with belkin and see if this is a known issue and if i can get some reparations....REPARATIONS I TELLS YA!!

Re: Router in some sort of bizarre loop.

Belkin support is pretty darn good, their awake at 2:15am EST! i was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes, of course support had me do everything i had already done earlier. The whole time i was on the phone with them the router worked fine until support had me download the firmware, i tried to tell him i already had the current firmware..actually it was the original firmware because as far as i can remember they have never updated it at all. After installing the firmware it started acting like it did before, but i still suspect it was something overheating because by this point the router had been on for over an hour. They couldn't correct the problem so their going to send me a new router as soon as they receive my old one, unfortunately it's not going to be the same router because their all out of the N1 Vision.....strangely enough they have em for sale on their website.
