internet wont connect!

I just recently restored my computer and ive been trying to connect my wireless internet. I have a wireless g adapter card but the internets not coming up. It keeps saying that I need to change the port. My computer is a windows xp home edition emachine. Ive tried everything and the internet still wont come up can anyone help?

You say you've tried everything, please list what you have tried so far.

First off I have to say this (sorry for the emachine lovers) I HATE emachines, in my opinion the fail epically....My one and only emachine ended up meeting solid concert pavement from 22 stories up. That's how much I hated it.

To bypass changing the port, try this

Start-->Run--->CMD--->/ipconfig release--->/ipconfig renew

It may have an old ip address on it.

Please list the follow methods you have done to try to solve your problems so I may figure out what works and what doesn't.
