Connected to wireless router but internet browser continues to lose ability to browse

I recently purchased a HP Paviliton notebook which is running Windows Vista. I am able to conntect to my wireless router without any problems and the internet browser functions properly but every couple minutes/hours the internet browser will say it "cannot display the website" even though it is still connected to the wireless router. I have an older Toshiba laptop which is running Windows XP and I have never had this problem with it. I wonder if it has to do with the Windows Vista or the fack that my D-Link router is quite old. Any suggestions?

Re: Connected to wireless router but internet browser continues to lose ability to br

I take it you are using Internet Explorer... trying downloading and using Mozilla Firefox instead and reply back if the problem still persists.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it is still happening. Do you think it has something to do with windows vista and the fact that my wireless router is pretty old?

Lemme guess it's a Hp Pavilion Dv7? Yea, there really is no answers for that problem, just deal with it, click refresh. Mine does the same thing. Probably a latency issue with the computer and the wireless.

It's a dv6 but I'm sure that's pretty similar! That sucks that it's likely just the computer although for the past couple days it hasn't been doing it at all, and apparently my internet connection was upgraded so maybe it really was the internet. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!
