DSL WLAN connection lost

Running Win98se and doing fine with everything except the remote

connection won't hook up with the Internet, I'm currently using the 'main'

comp so I know it's not an outside connection issue.

This a.m. I went to reputable sites and surfed fine. I used my flatbed scanner

and then the printer but the printer option opened twice, overlaying the one

beneath (double clicked perhaps). I completed printing and closed the second

window. I surfed once more then shut down.

A short time later I booted up. Windows and all programs run great! but now it refuses to connect to DSL, browser opens but no page found and light on the router is lit showing it is receiving signal. When I open the router manager (other comp) it scans but finds no point of connection. The Home portal connection on the 'main' comp shows that other comp as 'inactive'.

I have scanned for viruses, run spybot, adaware... had been recently cleaned

using HJT at this site and since have traveled only to TSF, Symantec,

Lavasoft and Windows Update so feel certain these are not issues. I have

Any idea where the culprit is hidden? Scanner, Printer, router softwares? or

do I have to reinstall hardware? Please list ideas in order of difficulty, easiest first.

Thanks in advance,
