Juno and wireless networking
Hi all, thank you for the wonderful work you do here. A friend of mine is trying to get another computer to connect wirelessly to the internet from his main computer, which has a Juno modem. He was given a 2wire modem, but it does not have a router built into it. He had to go out and buy a D-Link router. The computer he is trying to get the internet on is an older one, using a Netgear card or adapter? to connect via the D-Link router.
His problem is that he does not know very much about setting up wireless connections (neither do I). He has gotten many people, including a tech, to come out and try to solve his problem. He has gotten a connection for this second computer, but it does not last long. The longest was 3-4 days, and the tech told him he didn't think it would be possible to get a connection. His computer information: 2007 Gateway running Windows Vista Wire2 (Juno) with D-Link router His second computer: HP 2003 Windows XP with Netgear card/adapter? (I am going to find out which soon) If anyone has faced a similar problem with this setup or Juno, your help would be greatly appreciated. |
