2 laptops but 1 gets horrible connection?

I have a dell studio laptop and a dell inspiron 1525. The studio is pretty good anywhere around the house but the inspiron doesnt get much connection anywhere downstairs. Ive had them since last december and bought the new router with them. Is the low connectivity because of the router or the inspiron? thank you

electrical wiring may be running through the floors causing electro-magnetic interference. Start first by changing channels on the router.

Log into the router and you can change the channel that way.
