Router can't detect a connection.

Hey there,

I am having one heck of a time getting my new wireless router installed. Basically, near the end of the installation process, it tries to restart my network, then it says "no connection detected". Please Help!

SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION

- I used to have (and still do) a D-Link DIR-300 wireless router. I had my computer, with Windows XP, hooked up directly to it, and I had my PS3 and Wii feeding off of it wirelessly. It worked fine for months, but then the other day it stopped working.
- I simply could no longer access the internet with my computer.
- The PS3 said it couldn't connect, citing a "DNS error". The Wii also said it couldn't connect.
- After hours on end fiddling with the D-Link, I gave up and decided to buy a new router.
- So now I have a NETGEAR WGR614v9 wireless router.
- I still have the D-Link, but I can't find the install disk. I have it disconnected.

NOW

- I put the NETGEAR install disk in and installed everything step-by-step. Turn the modem off, unplug it, remove the ethernet cable, insert the yellow cable, etc....
- I have everything hooked up properly. Then, the install program attempts to restart the network, but it can't. It says "no connection detected". However, all of the appropriate lights on the router are on (power, internet, and LAN).

Any ideas? Here is my ipconfig /all...

Re: Router can't detect a connection.

I'm not gonna rely on disc or installation program, I'd rather do it manually.

Well, what I'm gonna suggest is to connect your computer directly to the modem and see if you'll be able to get a connection.
