Can't connect with DSL!

Hello.

I've been using Verizon DSL for nearly a year now, and for the past month or so, I've been having some major trouble with it. Whenever I try to connect to MSN, I always get a message saying "no connection detected" or something along those lines. However, everything is connected perfectly, and my DSL modem has all of its lights turned on correctly. I even checked my network connections, and under "LAN or High-Speed Internet", it says that it is enabled.

The weird part is, it isn't only MSN, but everything internet-related. Meaning Mozilla, AIM, Soulseek, etc., so there is definately something wrong with my DSL connection and not just MSN or whatnot. I even called Verizon and they told me that according to their data, I should be able to connect.

I'm not exactly an expert with computers, so there could be something obvious I'm doing wrong. Or maybe I need a new DSL modem box? To anyone that might know what I could do, help please!
Thanks.

Hard to tell what's wrong with your Internet connection, but try to restore to an earlier date.
Go to Start, accessories, system tools, system restore. Restore earlier date.
