Ethernet connection issues..
Hi,
I recently came to the eastcoast to visit my cousins for the summer. I asked if I could use their internet and they told me that I needed to connect the Ethernet cable directly into my laptop because they do not have a router. So I gave it a try and connected the Ethernet cable (they have Time Warner, by the way..) directly into my laptop from the modem. A "Limited/No Connectivity error showed up on my Internet connection icon. I plugged the Ethernet cable into my cousin's laptop and it worked perfectly fine! I have a HP DV6 Notebook PC with Vista and my cousin has a HP DV5 Notebook PC with Vista. I checked the drivers and mine was a little bit more recent than his... would that make a difference? My laptop works beautifully with wireless.. but why is it having so much trouble with a direct connection? Please help! |

Re: Ethernet connection issues..
Did you power cycle the modem when you changed the machine it was attached to?
