something appears to be blocking everything from connecting

a while ago this computer picked up a virus. i installed zonealarm and it said hotshows.org was repeatedly trying to connect to the computer. i installed various other antivirus software but nothing was picked up.

however, ever since then internet explorer, opera, and google chrome have all been blocked from connecting to the internet. firefox is the only browser that will allow the computer to connect to the internet. various other programs are unable to connect; i'm fairly sure something is on this computer but i don't know how to reset this "proxy." what should i do?
