Hardware & software needed to provide Internet Fax Service?

Hi, I would like to find out how to setup a commercial internet fax service, like ‘Efax’. I know that I will need to have a fax server or gateway, but what are the exact hardware and software that I need? Do I need just a fax modern & a telephone line? Can anyone help me? Thanks!! :) :)

It doesn't take much. As long as you have an internet connection you are all set. You might want to get a scanner if you want to scan custom documents. But with eFax, you can send PDF files to a fax machine right through your email. You can find more info about online fax services at Computer Faxing. No special requirements are necessary - which beats the heck out of having to set up and install a physical fax machine. Hope that helps!

To do faxing from a computer you need three things:
Computer with phone modem
Phone line
Fax software

The phone line does not need to be dedicated just in existence and connected to the modem.

Internet fax service doesn’t require any telephone line or whatsoever. A computer and a good internet connection will do. Free-trials are also given to know if it fits your faxing requirements.
