Modem question.

I was wondering today if you could buy 3rd party mosdem to use. I was wondering because our embarq EQ-660r isn't the most "pleasent".

Yes, different modems will work when configured with the proper information.
However, Embarq basic support does not support ADSL modems that were not purchased through Embarq or an Embarq sales channel.

Suggest you go to dslreports.com and scan the providers and get a better feel before you jump in and buy another modem.
