Connection speed throttled?

I recently noticed it seems like my download speed is being lowered to 150KB/s, while my upload speed remains about the same.

The modem Connection Information displays the same readings it always has, but with DSL Reports websites that used to read about 3000Kbps, they now read 1400-1600 Kbps. I have a DSL connection and my IP is SBC. (ATT)

There are no other computers hogging bandwith on the network. I have tried from my iPod Touch and gotten the same reading.

Your connection dropped half of it, from 3.0mbps it went down to 1.4 to 1.6mbps.

Please provide this information...

What make/model of the modem you're using?
Do you have any router connected to your modem?
Are you on wired or wireless connection?
Is your modem filtered or goes straight to your phone jack?

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.
