Wireless Connection Issues
I have a problem with my wireless connection.
When my computer first starts up it can't find any wireless networks (not mine or the one next door as it usually does). Wifi is turned on. If I then plug in my network cable from the modem it starts to connect to the modem. Once connected I can pull the network cable out and use wirelss - it starts then to pick up neighbouring networks as well. The problem occurs again when the computer is shut down or restarted. I am using a Dell Inspiron 6400 with Vista Home Premium. The wireless modem I am using is a Netcomm NB6PLUS4W Wireless ADSL2 + Router. Any advice/fixes will be appreciated Cheers, Lance |

Re: Wireless Connection Issues
So it doesn't find any networks until you use a cable? That is a first.
Disable all security software. Reinstall the latest drivers for the card.

Re: Wireless Connection Issues
Next time u switch on the comp check this, Goto start->run->type "services.msc"->scroll down, double click wlan auto configuration, check if it has started and check if it is automatic, if not, set it to automatic and click on the start button in that window. Try and let me know if it works now.

Re: Wireless Connection Issues
I checked that and it was already set to automatic. I've also found that if the laptop sits idle for the 1st 10-15 min it will connect automatically, it's just immediately after it starts!
