Agere Olympia U40 Modem Problems

Hi, I have a new Agere Olympia U40 Modem that I'm trying to use to connect to PeoplePC with. I'm trying to use it on a Dell Studio 15 but it only detects it as a default USB modem. I've connected it to my Gateway P-7805u laptop and y HP Pavilion a520n PC and they both detect it as the actual USB modem. I've done a clean vista install on the Dell and it still is doing the same thing. Does this mean its just not compatible? The install disk doesn't have vista drivers on it, but it pops up and says that vista installs them automatically. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Agere Olympia U40 Modem Problems

Alright, so I've shut off all of the networking stuff for the Ethernet and wireless and still nothing. I've also tried to disable the driver in the device settings and re-enable it and that didn't help either. Anything else I could try?

No real idea here, sounds like they lied about the Vista compatibility.
