I recently set up a Netgear Wireless-N modem/router [dgn2000] to my PC and had major problems connecting my laptop [built in wireless] to it, also my internet would suddenly drop out every half hour and the only way for me to connect was to reset it via the button. In the end I gave up and decided to attach my Siemens speedstream 4200 modem to the DSL line and attach the modem to the router via ethernet and use it like that, all has been OK, iam able to connect my laptop to the router and both had internet. but every couple of hours the connection drops out and I have to reset both the Siemens and the router, is there any reason why the connection would suddenly drop out? is it because I'm not supposed to connect a Siemens to a Modem/router?
My PC is Windows Vista home premium sp1 and my laptop is the same.

Re: Stressed and confused with Modem/router
If you have to reset the modem, I'd guess it's the ISP that's the issue. I'm confused how you have one ADSL router connected to another, exactly how are those cabled together and configured?
