Why is my Dail Up so slow!!!!!!
The only internet i can get at my house is dial up and the download speed is between 2kb/s - 3kb/s. I have netzero and a 56kb/s modem. I talked to some other people that have dial up and they said that there download speed was faster. So i was wondering if there is something wrong with my dial up or if it is supposed to be that slow.
Thanx for any help! |

Re: Why is my Dail Up so slow!!!!!!
It's that slow. 3kbyte/sec is about a dialup 28.8k, maybe a 33.6k. Dialup 56k (really limited to about 53k) is the best speed under ideal conditions. Under less than ideal conditions the modems will adapt to a speed that will allow reliable connections. That's almost always the 28.8 or 33.6 speeds. Really bad connections will fall back to 14.4, or slower.
