2 existing modems will either operate with cable tv provided dsl

I have 2 modems, both DSL capable
one presently in operation with Verizon phone line & DSL the second is just in storage The one connected to Verizon is a Westell versalink 327W
The other is a ActionTec GT704WG.

I'm considering dropping Verizon altogether and getting a bundled package from our cable provider, getting phone, tv & DSL.

My Question Can either of these modems function with the cable provided DSL or must I "rent" the cable company's modem?

You can't use either of those, since they're both DSL modem/routers. You don't have to rent the cable company's modem, you can buy a cable modem for $40-50, it'll pay for itself before the first year is up.
