Virgin - Weird ping problem.

So I got virgin broadband (up to 8mb) about a week ago, ever since then I have had a very strange ping problem.

To speedtest.net i average around 4mb DL and .5mb upload and can download around 500kb/sec most of the time. The problem comes with any online game that needs a decent ping; it spikes anywhere from 40-400 constantly and is basically unplayable. Im using ethernet so the problem definately isnt a low wireless signal, virgin support had no clue and told me they couldnt help so i have no clue what to do next, any ideas?

If this just happened at the same time that you changed ISP's, it's most likely delays on their network.

Anything I can do about it? Virgin support just deny being able to help me at all.

If it's the ISP, there's not much you can do to change that.
