Belkin router drops connection every 10 minutes

Belkin 4 port wired router F5D5231-4 conncting to cable broadband (Virgin Media formerly NTL) in the UK. I have two PCs on the router at present. I lose internet connections every 10 minutes. Pings to external sites show timeouts for a short period then it all picks up again. Pings to the router itself on 192.168.2.1 work all the time. The router security log does not show anything.

Have tried reset to factory and re-setting parameters required but no improvement. Why 10 minutes?

If I cable the PC direct to the ISP no problems.

The two PCs have different AV (Symmantec on mine, Mcafee on my sons.) We both see the same problem.

I have uploaded latest firmware - no change.

Belkin support so far have offered no constructive advice. Anyone else seeing this - I see some similar comments via googling.

Anyone know if there are any hidden pages to enable trace in the router or anything.

TIA
