My computer has recently stopped recognizing my router and will not connect to the internet. At first I thought that since it's an older computer, maybe this was a bound-to-happen thing.
Unfortunately, today when I went to attempt looking into the problem, I found that my monitor is not being recognized anymore either. When I moved the mouse, the only thing to pop up was a 'no signal' notice. *Everything is connected properly to the tower. *None of the connection cables are loose. The only thing that I can think of that might have cause this all to happen is the new/used monitor that I recently bought off a friend. (I just felt it was an unlikely cause but at this point, it's all I have to go on.) Can a new monitor cause these sorts of problems to a computer? The new monitor is an I-INC lcd and the computer is an older W1700 E-Machine Desktop. (yes, I know that these are all crappy brands) My router is a Cisco Linksys. Please help! I work from my laptop but my Tivo won't connect to download new programs as long as the router isn't working! |
