Can no longer hear my modem sounds

I can no longer hear my modem dial up and negociate. Can't say I noticed when it stopped so I can't associate it with any particular event - like Windows update! All other sounds are fine - so I don't suspect the sound drivers.

Any ideas on how I can recover the modem sounds?

Many thanks in advance.

Andy

Hi,

Check here: Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem options, Modems, Properties, Modem, Here is where you can turn your speaker volume up, exit and click OK and that should do it.

Re: Can no longer hear my modem sounds

Hi,

Yep - I know that - and yep, the volume is turned all the way up.

I'm looking for a deeper more esoteric answer to this problem. I don't know why it happens or what it is that I do but I had this on my old system. Everything is working and then one day it isn't.

My current system is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 and I us AOL 8 (for my sins) as my email client and IE 6 as my browser.

Any illumination welcome.

Thanks,

Andy
