Grin Internet Connection Question

Let me first start off by saying "I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, I searched and couldn't find an answer"

Okay I am a BRAND NEW user to the iMac Machine. I bought an older model IMac G3 Indigo Blue from a Craigslist seller yesterday here are the specs:

Specifications:

* 400 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor
* 512 MB of RAM
* Slot-loading DVD/CD-R drive
* Firewire 400 port for fast file transfers
* ATI Rage 128 VR 2D/3D (AGP 2X) graphics
* Harmon-Kardon designed sound system
* 15-inch CRT display
Currently running Mac OS X 10.3.9 and able to run Tiger ( from what the seller told me)

My issue is I have Comcast DSL, I have a regular PC connected to the internet now, no Linksys Router anything, just a regular DSL Modem. When I took the Ethernet cable out of my PC last night to try to connect the internet to the Imac it wouldn't connect, Foxfire or Safari.
How do I connect to the internet? I called Comcast and was told I would have to get the modem reset to config to the Imac but that would make us lose connection to the PC, is there a way to connect both? The iMac does have a Airport wireless card as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Internet Connection Question

Comcast doesn't offer DSL, so I hope you're really talking about cable Internet service.

You can't connect both of the machines at the same time to a plain broadband modem, that's why everyone uses routers. If you want to connect a different computer or other device to the modem, turn off the modem to change the connected device.
