Linksys WRT54GS modem - no internet
Problems getting Linksys Router to recognize the internet. Can get directly to the net on the base PC, but the router won't recogize the internet connection, and therefore no other devices can see the wireless network. They see other networks in our area, so I'm confident this issue is with my router.
I've followed all the instructions to reconnect wires and reboot the modem and router, including full factory reset of the router - both yours and via the Linksys CD support guide. No go. ![]() I've released and renewed my IP address successfully, but when I ping I get "Request timed out". Yahoo responds, however. Is that weird? Here is the hardware config info: Dell Dimension DIM 9100; 3.00GHz; 512 Ram (I know, whimpy) Windows XP Home Addition Ver 2002, SP2 Router: Linksys WRT54GS v.7 using WEP encryption Cable Modem: Motorola SB5120 ISP: Comcast cable Here is the ping/IP result info you requested: Thanks a bunch! ![]() *********************************** Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. Re: Lynksys WRT54GS modem - no internet
This sounds like a firewall issue, you obviously have Internet connectivity here.
What is the exact symptom you have? Have you tried booting in Safe Mode with Networking?
