WLAN will not connect
I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5920 off e-bay. The man I bought it from swears up and down that it worked perfectly fine for him and he's never had any problems with the computer. I believe him because he is offering to allow me to return the computer for a full refund.
Anyway it's equipped with an Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. I can connect to the internet through an ethernet cable. But it will not allow me to view any wireless networks. I know the WLAN is enabled and is up-to-date on drivers. I've already tried all that. But it still says that my WLAN is disconnected and it will not find any WiFi networks. I've changed all the settings so I know it's not on energy saver mode or anything like that....please help. I'm getting so frustrated. |

Re: WLAN will not connect
Did you make sure you have the wireless enabled? Usually a switch or a function key sequence.
You may also need to open the access door on the bottom and reseat the wireless adapter in the mini-PCI slot, shipping may have knocked it loose.

Re: WLAN will not connect
The wireless is definitely enabled. There is a button you push, it comes up on the screen saying it is. I will try the other suggestion when I get home from work. I don't have a screw driver here to get the bottom compartment lid off.
