DSL randomly disconnects need help.

Hi, first time posting.
So the wife and I just bought a house a couple of months ago, and ever since we have moved in, we have had problems with our dsl service randomly disconnecting.
We are running 2 computers, both on xp, 1 on ethernet, mine the master computer is running wireless. our provider is qwest. we are running on a motorola 3347 router. we have vonage phone service.
when we get disconnected, first off we get booted the same exact time, the lights on the router do not change, and in order to reconnect we both have to repair our network connections. I download alot of live music, and the downloads seem to start back up no problem, automatically without me even having to reconnect manually. when we reconnect manually thru the network connections we reconnect no problem, if we do not repair the network connection, we are unable to surf the web. normally we will just repair, reconnect, and about an hour or so later, same thing happens, we get disconnected, and do it all over again.
we have had qwest out 2 different times.
1st time the guy checked my comp, did the normal unplugging the router, checked our phone box outside, then swapped out our router, we used to use a 2 wire router, and the same thing was happening. I remember going into the router settings a few times, and remember under the stats and such, it told me that there were a bunch of "retraining errors". since we have the new motorola router, i cannot figure out what the stats mean. so the new router didnt help at all, we called again, another tech came out, checked our signal outside again, then went down the street to a main box, did something down there and hoped that that fixed the problem. well it didnt.
any thoughts on this?
could it be something in the router settings from when we moved? could it be that the phone lines just suck, and qwest really didnt inspect the line inside? could it be something else????

sorry it was so long :(

Re: DSL randomly disconnects need help.

Purchase a DSL splitter and install it at the telco NID (Network Interface Device). This is the place the telephone lines come into your home wiring, usually either in the basement or outside near the other utilitiy connections. Run a direct line from the DSL port on the splitter directly to the DSL modem. Connect all of the other phone instruments to the telephone output of the DSL splitter. All of the DSL analog side wiring should be CAT3 or better twisted pair from the telco service entrance to the DSL/ADSL modem. You can use one of the twisted pairs in CAT5 cable if you have that on hand. The splitter I've used in the past is the Wilcom PS-36, it's good for any DSL/ADSL service worldwide.

This is as good as it gets for DSL installations, and will usually solve in-house wiring issues.

Here's a good detailed description of the process: DSL Wiring Upgrade Tutorial
