DSL works on one phone line and not any other in the house

Here my situation, I have a 2wire modem/wireless router from at&t that will only work on one phone line in my house, the one in my bed room. This is after not being able t get the dsl to work at all at my house and they sent a tech out, for free thank god. He tested all the in and our side my house and the one cming into my house, all check out with the sunrise, so he switch my modem out to this one. It wouldnt work either, switch again, still nothing. So he says that I should probably get a new phone line ran, so I ask him if he wold do it if I gave him the cat3 to do it with, he said sure. Ran it to my office, tested it with the surise, looks good. No modems work on it. So me and him start plugging radom modems in all the phone line, nothing. Then he say that I should get a dsl split and put it in, so I get one out of my van, put it in, still nothing any where. So we decide to take a break, my sister come home and see's the new modem and that it is wireless and plug it in in my room so she can use her laptop will cooking dinner, it works. Me and the tech notice this and figure that maybe we werent give it long enough to connect. After we moved it to myoffice and let it setfo a half hour, no luck. So now it is back in bed room and me a the tech are both stumped. The reason I want it in the office is because that is where I build pc's for people at and dont want to have to get a seperate router to so I can have more the one on the net will I am workin, and I dont want to have to run 4 lines from the modem in my bedroom to the office. Any I deas?

do you have a house filter fitted or filters fitted to each phone socket

Purchase a DSL splitter and install it at the telco NID (Network Interface Device). This is the place the telephone lines come into your home wiring, usually either in the basement or outside near the other utilitiy connections. Run a direct line from the DSL port on the splitter directly to the DSL modem. Connect all of the other phone instruments to the telephone output of the DSL splitter. All of the DSL analog side wiring should be CAT3 or better twisted pair from the telco service entrance to the DSL/ADSL modem. You can use one of the twisted pairs in CAT5 cable if you have that on hand. The splitter I've used in the past is the Wilcom PS-36, it's good for any DSL/ADSL service worldwide.

This is as good as it gets for DSL installations, and will usually solve in-house wiring issues.
